Before ultimately starting his own current solo project, his second band-Sugarcoat, began playing locally, building a crowd and then began to spread out from regional playing to establishing new territories. Among these places, their fanbase grew and they recorded a self financed full length, self titled, album.

The band found themselves doing local gigs, traveling out of state regularly and promoting their record at shows, clubs festivals and fairs as well as doing in store performances at record stores.
